2011 Annual Report to the Community is now available

The City of Fayetteville's 2011 Annual Report to the Community is now available. From the opening of the North Carolina Veterans Park to the realization of the highest yearly construction valuation since 2006, the City of Fayetteville saw much success in 2011. City Management hopes that you enjoy this cumulative summary of one of the most exciting years in our All-America City's history.

SUBSTANTIAL AMENDMENT
FY 2011-2012 ANNUAL ACTION PLAN FOR THE
CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) PROGRAM

The City of Fayetteville Community Development Department is accepting citizen comments regarding its proposed Substantial Amendment to the 2011-2012 Annual Action Plan for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program of the approved 2010-2015 Consolidated Plan.

The City of Fayetteville previously submitted a FY 2011 Annual Action Plan to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). This plan was approved by HUD, but the City of Fayetteville Community Development Department has since made changes and is hereby providing notice to the public of proposed changes in program and associated funding.

Fayetteville Wins All-America City Award
All American City Award

After a spirited, patriotic presentation Thursday that featured marching, singing soldiers from the 82nd Airborne All-American Chorus, the City of Fayetteville was selected Friday night in Kansas City as an All-America City Award winner for the third time in its history. A delegation of approximately 60 people, including local officials and children, described to a panel how Fayetteville has shed its former "Fayettenam" image and became a cleaner, thriving community with a strong economy.

Protégé Student Spends Day in the Life of Council Member

Protoge Student and Council Franceska Jasmine Dwarica, pictured with the Fayetteville City Council, recently experienced "A Day in the Life of a Fayetteville City Council Member" at City Hall. Dwarica was selected and named 2011 Village Scholarship Award Winner, which Councilwoman Kady Ann Davy helped organize. Dwarica toured City Hall, met key City staff and engaged in community service. She read her scholarship winning essay at the Dec. 12 City Council Meeting. She is a senior at Westover High School in Fayetteville and the daughter of Maria Dwarica and Frederick Dwarica.
